Chosing mates

Second and for now last comic of "Salome's daughters", first book of the "House of Bast" series. A little known animal literature new book about cats.

It was surprising to see how mating was generally regarded as veeeery normal stuff and openly talked in public among cats (veeeeeeeery differently from famous cats series like Warriors of Erin Hunter). Not to mention the fact that mating itself (and the resulting breeding of kits) is a key component of the plot for all the consequences it bear...

Finally it is extremely curious how despite there ARE couples that express love, mating is not considering a personal affair and there are multiple characters who are mentioned to have mated just for simpathy or friendship or (more common) breeding duties. Actually there are a pair of troubled interesting love-events (including a pair of cats unable to mate together due their different social breed; and a similar pair who despite not showing exactly "love" (but deep affection) still do it in secret).

Oh cool. Where can I find the book and is it in English?
